Lost Sentences is a personal blog written by me, Emma Cragg.

Let's start with a bit about the stuff I'm interested in outside of my work.

I'm a foody – I love to cook and eat delicious meals.

I'm a sports fanatic – I play, I watch, I listen to almost anything.

I'm an avid reader – mostly fiction, but I'll give anything a try.

I'm a maker – I love to make things, both physical and digital.

Simple things make me very happy. Things like looking at the moon, a tasty pint of beer, being by the sea or getting my favourite seat in the cinema.

I like to look on the bright side of life.

On the off chance you're interested in my work, here's a few of the things I do:

• coaching with individuals and teams
• facilitation of workshops and meetings
• content design, copywriting and editing

The content

Many of the posts on this blog will be short observations about what's going on in the world around me. You'll also find quotes from the things I'm reading and maybe, occasionally, a few photos. I like making lists too.

I've taken inspiration from Simon Collison's Stream and Doug Belshaw's discours.es

The title

I have a [bad] habit of regularly not finishing sentences. Someone I used to live with once suggested I keep a record of these lost sentences. I liked the idea and the name has kind of stuck with me through all previous efforts at personal blogging.

The theme

I've adapted the Carbontwelve theme for write.as. My minimal changes include a new colour scheme and moving blockquotes inline for larger screens.

Here’s the thing: there are good blogs to read. Some old ones are gone, but new good ones are created all the time.

And there are good RSS readers which you can use instead of (or in addition) to Twitter and Facebook.

And — most importantly — nothing is stopping you from writing joyfully and creatively for the web! You can entertain, you can have fun, you can push the boundaries of the form, if you want to. Or you can just write about cats as you develop your voice. Whatever you want!
